Wahnfried 1883 is the second track on the fifth album by Klaus Schulze, TIMEWIND (1975).

Recorded: March/June 1975

Composer(s): Klaus Schulze

Perfomer(s): Klaus Schulze

The track title is a reference to the nineteenth-century composer Richard Wagner. Wahnfried is the name of Wagner's home in Bayreuth in the grounds of which he was buried in 1883. It is also a pen-name used by Schulze himself.

This track was (partly) used for:

  • the Belgium film "L'Arriviste" (1977) by Samy Pavel
  • the German TV film "Vom Kult der großen Mutter" (1989) on BR3 television
  • the Canadian TV film "War against the Mafia" (1998)
  • sample from the beginning used in the track Man in the Machine on album ARCHAIC MODULATION (1993) by Stevie Be Zet.
